A longstanding celebratory tradition for ALA , the MLK Sunrise Celebration pays tribute to the life and work of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and is co-sponsored annually by the ALA Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Task Force of the ALA Social Responsibilities Round Table, and the Black Caucus of the American Library Association. OCLC, Inc. is the 2024 Premier Sponsor. The event will feature selected passages from the works of Dr. King, a keynote address by David Delmar Sentíes, a call-to-action from Dr. Claudette S. McLinn and closing remarks by Lynn Silipigni Connaway.
