Vashalice Kaaba is a Ph.D. candidate in Information Studies at Florida State University, with specializations in library science and children's literature. Holding a B.S. in Sociology and an M.S. Ed in Education from Florida State and Iowa State University, respectively, her academic background is both broad and focused. She gained practical skills during a two-year Peace Corps stint in Uganda, serving as a Community Librarian and English Teacher.
Currently, Vashalice serves as an Information Technology Grants Manager at the National Science Foundation. She also founded and manages Kaaba Grant Solutions, a freelance grant-writing business. An active member of industry-relevant associations like the Children's Literature Association and the American Library Association, she is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and literacy. Vashalice embodies the intersection of academic rigor and public service, making significant contributions to her field.
