Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library

Kaela Sweeney is the Strategic Projects Manager at Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library in Northeast Ohio. She earned her M.Ed. in Secondary English Education from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. Before working in libraries, Kaela advocated for intellectual freedom as a high school English teacher in Tennessee and Georgia. She has managed several school and library literacy initiatives, and she recently published a chapter about teaching with YA climate fiction in Literature as a Lens for Climate Change: Using Narratives to Prepare the Next Generation (2021).
