Portuguese Language Reference Librarian

Henry Granville Widener is the Portuguese Language Reference Librarian the Hispanic Reading Room at the Library of Congress. During his time at the Library, Henry has worked across divisions and collaborated with partner institutions and artists on creating LibGuides, StoryMaps and exhibits, as well as contributions to the Library’s PALABRA Archive. Previously, Henry was the library and archives assistant at the Oliveira Lima Library at the Catholic University of America, where he focused on cataloging of books, prints and other rare materials. Widener received his Master's degree in Information Science from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco’s Departamento de Ciência da Informação and his BA in History from the University of Texas at Austin. Among the works in his publication portfolio are two book translations published by Companhia Editora de Pernambuco and several blog posts for the Oliveira Lima Library and the Library of Congress.
