Giselle M. Aviles is a Reference Librarian in the Hispanic Reading Room of the Latin American, Caribbean and European Division. She received a Ph.D. in Anthropology at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) / School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences in Paris (France), and completed postgraduate education in Documentary Studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain). At the Library, she has been working on creating more access points for users through digital publications, acquiring more materials in digital formats, and developing the Central and South American Indigenous Studies collections and connecting these to the U.S.
