Paul Signorelli & Associates
Paul Signorelli, a writer/trainer-facilitator/presenter/consultant who serves as California Library Association Library Advocacy Training Project Manager and previously was Director of Volunteer Services and Staff Training for the San Francisco Public Library system, brings extensive experience as an advocate, a trainer-facilitator, and a writer documenting how successful advocates work. As co-author of “Workplace Learning & Leadership: A Handbook for Library and Nonprofit Trainers” (ALA Editions, 2011), he helped capture the stories of library trainers and how they served as learning advocates within their libraries; as author of “Change the World Using Social Media” (Rowman & Littlefield, 2021), he explored how library staff and others at the local, regional, national, and global level foster positive change through the use social media; and as manager of the California Library Association Ursula Meyer Advocacy Training project, he designs and facilitates online and onsite learning opportunities for library staff members.
His most recent projects have included helping to document pandemic-era learning challenges and successes globally, through the Arizona State University ShapingEDU “Are We There Yet?” project, to advocate for positive change in online, onsite, and hybrid learning; helping design and facilitate a month-long massive open online course on artificial intelligence in lifelong learning to advocate for a well-reasoned approach to incorporating AI into learning; and facilitating workshops on a variety of topics ranging from train-the-trainer, presentation skills, and effective communication to cultivating mindfulness in the workplace.
Paul is active in the American Library Association and serves on the Public Library Association Continuing Education Advisory Group; serves on the board of directors for the award-winning UCLA Daily Bruin Alumni Association, where he developed and co-facilitates a mentoring program for campus journalists and helps design and deliver workshops for those students; and remains active in ATD (the Association for Talent Development) as a presenter and mentor for peers wanting help in their own career development.
