Software Engineer

Corey Halpin is a software engineer at the Internet Scout Research Group in the Department of Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Scout has been working at the intersection of Computer Science and Library and Information Science since 1994, creating and maintaining digital repositories and software to support them. Prior to joining Scout, Corey earned a PhD in Forestry using simulation models to understand the patterns of biomass development in the forests of northern Wisconsin. He enjoys writing in a nice notebook with a good pen, reading all the novels and novellas nominated for Hugo or Nebula awards, watching every Star Trek series, and pursuing minimalism in his personal computing environment.
