In her 22nd year as a public educator, and 7th year in the library, Sheila Michaels has focused on meeting needs of students that go beyond traditional library resources. She has created the BookBox program to customize the student reading experience and the BookBag program to bridge the summer gap between schools years.
Sheila holds a BA in English and Secondary Education, Masters in Education, and Masters in Library and Information Science. She has been recognized as an ALA Emerging Leader and currently serves on the Standards Task Force to write library curriculum for the state of Missouri and the YALSA Presidential Intiative Task Force.
