Outreach & Instruction Librarian Kraemer Family Library, UCCS
This talk will describe how the Games & Gaming Round Table (GameRT) set up their Twitch channel and the recent content they are producing on the platform, including an overview of the virtual conferences and monthly discussion series they've developed over the past year. It will cover the round table's goals for the platform, challenges they encountered, and ideas for future use while making space for participant questions. We will also provide a comparison for similar social media and streaming platforms, in order to contextualize how the platform fits into the world of libraries and how it can be used to reach the broader community.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe ways Twitch can be used to offer programming for libraries, specifically.
Upon completion, participants will be able to assess how different video streaming platforms meet their programming needs.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify the different programming opportunities GameRT has made available through Twitch.
