CANCELLED: Huddle: How a Book Study of Huddle Transformed Me as a Female Literacy Leader

As a new woman leader of color in a large school district, I wanted to learn more from the other women leaders and collaborate on best leadership practices. I created the district's first Women Leaders PLC centered on a book study of Huddle by Brooke Baldwin. This PLC transformed me as a woman literacy leader and fostered a new sense of community among the women leaders in my district. This session discusses how a simple book study can change one's perception of leadership and create a greater sense of belonging in a district. We will discuss how you can create your own huddle in your school and district.

Learning Objectives:

  • Collaborate on ways they can create a professional Huddle in their district.
  • Create their own guided Professional Learning Committee based on their needs as educators.
  • Create a book study as the guide for their Professional Learning Committee.
